I am a little aloof on SS. If we raise the retirement age, does that mean people cannot collect until a later age? Or that they can work till a later age and not be penalized for not retiring? And why would changing it help? Basically by less people getting the benefit because the age between death and retirement is closer? Or is there something else I am missing?
In general, I think of SS as a government donation. I am using my 401K and personal investments for my retirement. I am not going to rely on SS.
