Significant,
possibly enormous, mineral deposits have been found in Afghanistan. It is both problematic and wonderful. It could transform the poor nation into a commodity powerhouse, which is extraordinary. It may also have other, unintended consquences.
Call me pessimistic, but our own mineral resources governing body had corruption issues. What hope do developing countries with past histories of war lords have? I guess all I can do is hope for the best.
